Busy day at Northern National Ayrshire Sale

This year we sold 12 heifers at the Northern National Ayrshire Sale at Carlisle to average £1666.68.

Two heifers sold at 1750gns, the first was Halmyre Urr Louise 244 an Ayr-Phoe Ideostar daughter out of an Ex90 scored Stadel daughter. At the same money was Halmyre Urr Brown Bud 12, by Halmyre Urr Pinsent she is out of a VG85 scored Halmyre Urr Middleman daughter.

Making 1720gns was Halmyre Urr Kava 30 also by Pinsent, her dam is a Howie’s Figo daughter. While Halmyre Urr Princess Royal 110 sold for 1700gns, she is by Halmyre Urr High Regard and out of a Dudoc Bacculum sired dam.

Strong trade at Carlisle Coloured Breeds Sale

This month we sold five heifers at Carlisle’s Coloured Breeds Sale to average £1858.50.

Our top price was 1950gns for Halmyre Urr Mayflower 425, a Halmyre Urr Pinsent daughter out of a VG86 scored Halmyre Urr Wrens Star sired dam.

At 1900gns was Halmyre Urr Jinks 453, by Lagace Ristourn she is out of a dam by Calderglen Triple Threat.

Halmyre Urr Poker 20 sold for 1850gns, she is by Halmyre Urr Walnut and out of an EX92 classified dam by Halmyre Urr Jack.

First Royal Highland interbreed win for Halmyre

Halmyre Urr Floralin 144 secured Halmyre’s first ever interbreed title at the Royal Highland Show after she won the Ayrshire championship under Maggie Howie. Interbreed judge Richard Baynes tapped her forward to take the overall dairy interbreed. high12d

Sired by Howie’s Inimitable this third calver stood reserve champion at the Highland and champion at Ayr 2011. She calved in March 2012 and gave 7954kg at 4.92%bf 3.22%p in her second lactation.

First UK Dairy Expo

We took a team of cows to the first ever UK Dairy Expo at Carlisle. In the three year old class we stood first and second, leading the class was Halmyre Urr Ladybird 404, a Halmyre Urr Pinsent daughter.

While Halmyre Urr Kava 29 took the second spot, she is by Howie’s Stelth.

Halmyre lead trade at Northern National Ayrshire Sale

At first Northern National Ayrshire Sale held at Carlisle we sold our show cow Halmyre Urr Jinks 427 for the top price of the day of 5000gns.

This second calved Halmyre Urr Pinsent daughter is out of an Ex90 scored dam by Halmyre Urr Jack.

She stood third in the junior cows at the Royal Highland Show and then at Dumfries Show she was champion Ayrshire. She was purchased by Geraint Thomas for his Gwynnog herd.

At 1900gns was Halmyre Urr Louise 234, she is by Howie’s Stelth and out of a dam by KC Roses Chatter. Making 1850gns was Halmyre Urr Etta 332, a Pinsent daughter out of a Halmyre Urr Middleman sired dam.

We sold two heifers at 1800gns, the first Halmyre Urr Louise 231, a Pinsent daughter out of a dam by Knowe First Priority, then another Pinsent daughter Halmyre Urr Jinks 443, she is out of a Middleman sired dam.

In total we sold thirteen cows and heifers to average £2043.13.
